Not to be overly predictable, but- Alyx!

→ why I decided to play this character
Initially, I picked up Alyx because I knew we'd need one once Gordon got into Half-Life 2 and I enjoy threading with Cam. The more I saw of the canon, the more charmed I became, and the rest is history.

→ my favorite scene or bit of interaction concerning this character to date
Gotta be the Interval of Darkness miniplot, in which Alyx spent a week having an out-of-body experience in Milliways while Gordon was trekking through the antlion warren in Episode 2. I've always been fond of ghost stories, and this time I got to play from the ghost's point of view.

→ my favorite original aspect about this character
Her relationship with Gordon. Canon implies that they're an item, but it's all one-sided because Gordon never speaks or shows emotion. Milliways!Gordon, on the other hand, is an actual person, and their incredibly awkward and nerdy courtship has been a joy to behold even when things go sour for a bit. I seriously want to see these two make it to their happy ending together.

→ the last thing they did "off screen"
Cried a lot on the helicopter ride to Abrams Island.

→ what their last words would be if they died tomorrow
"I'm sorry, Gordon."

→ what the next thing I'm doing for them is
Continuing on with Episode 3. The forecast calls for increasing doom with flurries of Aperture weirdness and an 85% chance of dramatic revelations as we move into the week.
