Interview meme thingy!

My seven questions, fromminkhollow:
1) What pulled you into My Little Pony?
Honestly? I'm pretty sure it all came down to this music video for Weird Al Yankovic's "Polkarama!". I had already seen the first episode of MLP:FiM because it was a free iTunes download. While I found it surprisingly well-made, I wasn't intrigued enough to seek out the rest of the series, especially since our cable package didn't include The Hub. Then, while browsing Weird Al videos on YouTube, I came across that video. And, as tends to happen on YouTube, that led me to a bunch of other pony videos--some fan-made, some just unedited clips from the show. After a while, I thought "Huh, this is actually pretty damn good. I should seek out the show itself." And the rest, as they say, is history.
2) Anything you're looking forward to doing after the Milliways move?
Finally getting Alyx and Gordon's buns out of the oven, as it were. Alyx has been pregnant for, what, two years now in real time? ^^;
3) What's your dream job?
Y'know, my dad asked me this very question a couple of weeks ago, and I didn't have a real answer for him. I have some ideas for jobs that I might find ideal, but I won't really know unless I try them, will I? (Also, I have this ongoing paranoia that I'll get into my "dream job" and find out that I hate it and/or suck at it. Just one of my many and varied neuroses.) If you want to know what I think would be my ideal job, it'd probably be working at a print shop or other publishing concern as a copywriter and/or graphic designer. Something where I wasn't the lead decision maker, but high enough up the totem pole that I didn't have people second-guessing me all the time.
4) If you could live anywhere you wanted, where would it be? Why?
Another good question. Out of the places I've actually visited? Probably Vancouver, BC, with San Francisco coming in a close second. They're both beautiful cities with great shopping and thriving arts communities. Vancouver gets the edge because, unlike Frisco, things actually friggin' stay open past five PM.
5) Unpopular Fandom Opinion from the fandom of your choice?
Two words: Derpy Hooves. I still contend that the word "Derpy" does not belong in a children's show, let alone as the name of a character in that show. It's a fucking South Park reference, for God's sake, that alone should keep it out of a kid's show.
6) All-time favorite movie? Why?
I gotta go with the movie adaptation of Coraline. The animation is beautiful, the music is beautiful, the story is compelling, and it's based on a Neil Gaiman book and everything Neil Gaiman touches is contaminated with PURE AWESOME.
7) If given the choice, are you a pets-having kind of person? Why or why not?
Depends on the pet, I think. I adore cats, but dogs I can take or leave. Mostly because cats don't demand that you walk them for twenty minutes twice a day.
